Downtown Winter : Ryan, Kathy and Abygail

This is the family shoot I spoke of in Monday’s post. You’d never know it, but there is another baby on the way, due to arrive in April.  On a chilly Sunday afternoon we meandered downtown Red Deer and tried to get as much as we could without freezing ourselves!

Ryan and Kathy have been friends of mine for over five years now, and they even visited me when I lived in England. Let’s just say that friends who travel together learn things about each other you just don’t learn at home!  😉   Ryan and Kathy met at a business convention and you could, quite literally, say it was love at first sight.

Abygail is a little girl who loves to dance and play and her vocabulary seems to grow every time I see her! Take a winter walk through this shoot and share the joy of this family…

Fall river shoot: Tammy, Gary and their girls

I love how the right person makes someone smile, like no one else can. I love how little kids would rather play in leaves than smile for me and my camera. Capturing these beautiful people on an early fall evening was a joy for me because we played down by the river and I got to hear ‘their story’.

Families joining. New life and new beginnings. That’s what this shoot is all about! There’s such an innocence and joy to these photos that I love.
Take a journey, and meet Tammy and Gary and their girls…

When a family grows by two: we chose you

When I got asked to do the adoption photos for this family, I was truly honoured. And a little nervous! It somehow seemed like a bigger task than “regular newborn photos”. I haven’t done a lot of newborn and maternity shoots, but this one was a real joy.

These twin boys have joined a family that have long been waiting, expecting, hoping and praying for them…
