A good man is worth waiting for. Scratch that. A good man who loves Jesus, will protect you, fight for you, hold you, provide for you, dream with you, and tell you that you look beautiful when you absolutely don’t feel like you do … is worth waiting for.
I hung on to those words for years. And am so happy that I have living proof that good gifts like that do exist.
My Troy. *Happy sigh*
Troy and I did love language tests this past week – and we are complete opposites. I suspected so, and was glad to have pen to paper to prove it! 😉 While I love acts of services and quality time, his boat floats on words of affirmation and physical touch. Since words are your jam, babe, I want to honour you and the man you are on this inter-web of a thing that people we know, and many we don’t, come to read. Because I want people to know that good men like you do exist, and you’re worth waiting for and fighting for.
Troy, you are an amazing Daddy. Elizabeth lights up when you come home. Gives you oh so sweet kisses. Looks for you from her room at night or in the morning after you’ve left for work. I love the way you play with her, because it’s way rougher than I would, but it’ll be good for her. I love that she has a cheeky sense of humour, because I think that’s from you. And I’m thankful.
I love how you work so hard to provide for our family, and the sacrifices you make. I love how you wash the dishes when you actually hate it. Loathe it, rather. But you do it for me, because I relax better with a clean house. I love how you listen, quietly, when I just really really need to unload. And I love all that you share with me, dream with me, and do for me.
It’s cliche, but I truly do love you to the moon and back. I’d never actually go to the moon, because it’d freak me out. We’ve talked about this. You would do it, I wouldn’t. But you’d go for me, and come back. So I love you for that. And a whole lot of other things that are just between you and me. 😉
Happy Valentine’s love day babe, I love you with all my heart. And so does your daughter 😉
