Bucketlist Friday

Happy friday ya’ll!! To challenge myself to write more, welcome to the first instalment of “Bucketlist Friday” in which we will talk about dreams, passions, pursuits, challenges … and how we can live our lives that God has given us to the fullest!

A couple years ago I started “Monday Minute” which was a quick snippet of wisdom from the Word and something that was on my heart to write about. Well, I’m bringing MM back! Aside from pretty pictures, I really want this blog to have some depth, challenge and hope.

For today’s BF post, I wanted to share with you my OWN list! Well, at least a few highlights.

In my early 20’s I started writing down on a 8.5×11 blank sheet of paper the things I wanted to see happen in my life. Here are a few that have been accomplished, and a few yet to be realized.

1. Go to a Broadway show
2. Visit Buckingham Palace
3. Write short stories for a magazine
4. See British castles
5. Go to an opera
6. Learn Irish dancing
7. Go para-sailing
8. Write a book
9. Fly in a helicopter
10. Backpack Europe

Not yet…
1. Design/decorate my own home
2. Get married and raise a family
3. Ride in a hot air balloon
4. Meet a king/queen
5. Swim with dolphins
6. Build a school in Africa
7. Own a scooter
8. Sleep under the stars
9. Have a book on the New York Times Bestseller list
10. Go to a southern gospel church

There you have it! My list is inching the 50 mark, and every time some dream is realized, I put a check mark and the year beside it. How about you? Do you have a list? Even if all of it never gets accomplished in a lifetime, there is something about the act of dreaming and writing it down that gets you outside the ‘every day humdrum’.

So… what’s #1 on your list? 😉

Hi Lani, I like how you come up with a list to live life to the fullest. I also find it heartwarming that you sponsor kids in Africa and refer them to as your kids, and how your dream is to go to Africa and meet your sponsor kids. I’m sure it will be so nice.

I just came up with an iPhone app to help people share their goals and dreams. You’re an inspiration and if you find it useful, pls let me know 🙂
