A walk through High Street with the marching band leading the way, and Christians throughout Chelmsford united – large cross held high. A strong English tradition to gether in all high streets across country. Wind at our backs, and Starbucks in hand.
A journey to Tescos supermarket – where is the leg of lamb? Fire alarm pulled, forcing everyone to abandon half-filled shopping carts. Chilling wait outside until “all clear” – though two clerks found comfort and warmth in eachother’s arms.
- New favorite song: “Footprints in the Sand” by Leona Lewis. Also a Brit.
- Verse spoken tonight at Good Friday service:
Philippians 3: 7-8 – “I once thought all these things were so very important, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done. Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the priceless gain of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage,
SO THAT I MAY HAVE CHRIST.”
Powerful isn’t it? So that I may HAVE CHRIST. My realization tonight was that above all my striving for achievements and success, the greatest thing to have, is Christ.
